Time Fries when I’m with you! At least whenever I’m out shooting, an hour of shooting seriously feels like five minutes when you are having fun with the sweetest model ever.
I wanted to try shooting a little bit more of a carefree styled shoot where we shot somewhere out of the ordinary and I had so much fun setting this set of images with Abbie!
The camera settings I used with my flash varied a little bit in the beginning but for the most part, I settled on shooting at 1/1250 sec at f/1.6, ISO 160 with my flash set at 1/16th power. It was just enough to give our model good light on her face and arms and not have flat photos!
To make the shot I used my Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 portrait lens. This is the perfect lens to get your subject in focus while still create those gorgeous soft backgrounds. The majority of these shots were shot at 1/250 sec at f 1.8, ISO 160. I usually shoot pretty fast to avoid the subject from blurring, I kept my F-stop at 1.8 because I really wanted to focus on my subject and isolate her from the busy and colorful backgrounds.
Senior Portrait Spotlight! Today I wanted to share Karli’s Senior Session, this city + sunshine shoot was everything!!! I love planning each seniors session to be unique to who they are and their vibe! Karli wanted her to shoot to be care-free, happy and just have fun with it! SO obvi I did what I do best, party it up and take pics while I was at it! ! We shot this in early October, and the lighting and weather was absolutely perfect for her Senior Portraits and I’m in love with how all these pictures came out.
So today we are featuring Kaitlyn’s Senior Session, she is a Senior at Cardinal Gibbons and loves sunshine, sunflowers and being HAPPY! I had a ton of fun capturing her personality and honestly, she made that pretty easy to do. We kicked things off in her hometown of Durham at the American Tobacco Campus.
Do you know what’s crazy? The fact that Christmas is less than FIVE days away! Somehow time flies and the calendar seems to go from straight from fall to “Hey Santa” in five mins. But either way we def had to celebrate the season with a festive FY&F Holiday Shoot!
Now that the 2020 Senior year is kicking off I am TRYING to blog more! I have so SO so many gorgeous images and just cannot share as many as I want on social media!
It’s a party in the land of Free! We got some of the girls from out FY&F team together for an unforgettable fourth of July shoot! What could be more fun than an evening dockside? An ice cold coke in one hand, sparklers in the other. We had the radio ALL the way up, and by radio I mean Spotify. 😛 We chose this location for our shoot was, well… HELLO it is gorgeous! But also SO nostalgic. It reminds me of those long summer days, tubing till my hands had blisters and the unmistakable smell of lake water and boat fuel.
We named this shoot “City Crush” because we live in one of the best cities in the US! I really wanted to highlight Raleigh and the city we all live in! And how better to do that then with this epic city backdrop! I might have already mentioned it but I am ob-freaking-sessed with how every shot came out! Even the weather matched the shoot vibe. We shot at the roof top terrace at the Dillion in Raleigh, the Dillion is iconic to Raleigh which made it the perfect spot for our team to get their glam on make epic team pictures.
